About Fountain City Brewing Company
Fountain City Brewing Company was born in the 1800s, a century of massive population growth in the United States by immigrants that settled the area as it became our 30th state, Wisconsin. Their families endured innumerable hardships as they transformed a sparsely populated frontier to a modern farming and industrial state. From this hardy pioneer stock, our brewery was founded and continued to operate under various name iterations, until it went out of business in 1965.
A small group of beer and history enthusiasts decided to resurrect this brewery, and on July 1, 2022, launched its first beer called Great Golden Lager. This classic Wisconsin craft beer has been brewed in the spirit of old-world traditions and is extremely well received by patrons throughout the state of Wisconsin where it is offered for sale. Only one year after entering the market, this golden lager is now available in Minnesota as well. This is truly a fine Wisconsin craft beer!
