Outcast Brewing Fills St. Pete's Former Flying Boat Space With Multi-Room Energy

New

October 3, 2026 · St. Petersburg, FL

St. Pete beer travelers who remember the old Flying Boat / Brutalist footprint have a clear answer now: Outcast Brewing Company is pouring at 1776 11th Ave. N, turning the big two-story building into a multi-room hang with beer, cocktails, wine, and a covered backyard stage.

Multi-room in a familiar address

Outcast took over the roughly 10,700-square-foot building once home to Flying Boat Brewery and King State's The Brutalist. Inside you get a main taproom for craft beer and hard sodas, a specialty craft-cocktail lounge, and a wine-and-bubbles room, so mixed groups do not have to split up. Outside, a large covered pavilion, outdoor stage, walk-up bar, yard games, and food-truck pads (with power so generators stay quiet) round out the "backyard." Local artist Ashley Brown's murals of Roscoe the raccoon set the come-as-you-are tone co-owner Richie Hamm has talked about since opening.

Current hours on Outcast's site: closed Monday; Tuesday-Thursday 2-10 p.m.; Friday 2-11 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Details: outcastbrewingcompany.com.

How to visit

Head brewer Scott Roche's resume stretches from Buffalo to New Orleans, and the tap list aims wide. Sabor Mexi-Cali parks its food truck Tuesday through Saturday evenings, and live music on the outdoor stage gives the backyard a reason to linger. Families and pets are welcome. Pair Outcast with a Grand Central or MLK corridor crawl; the brewery sits just off those nightlife belts on purpose.

Bottom line

If you loved that building's beer history, Outcast is the chapter open today: multi-room drinks, live music, and a proper St. Pete backyard.
