September 21, 2026 Arlington's Ballston corridor has a new Solace Outpost, and it is already kicking kegs. The Metro-friendly pub at 4201 Wilson Boulevard opened in early September with house beers, burgers, bowls, bratwurst, and a Tuesday growler deal built for take-home pints. Solace Outpost Ballston fills the former El Rey space with about 6,300 square feet of sporty hangout energy: dual draft towers, IPAs and lagers from the Solace family (including Ballston Lager), hop water, wine, and cocktails. The kitchen leans burgers, chicken handhelds, tacos, salad bowls, and bratwurst with D.C. and beer-cheese twists. Doors open daily at 11 a.m., which makes it an easy after-work or weekend Metro hop from Ballston-MU. Co-founder Jon Humerick has described the Outpost idea as simple: great beer, great food, and a place people want to hang out. The Ballston room joins Solace's Falls Church and Navy Yard Outposts plus the Sterling production home, with H2 Collective as a hospitality partner. DC Beer noted half-price Solace growler fills on Tuesdays for 32- and 64-ounce fills, plus early traffic strong enough to kick popular kegs. Beers are not brewed on site here; many come from the Falls Church Outpost system. That is fine for a neighborhood pub: short hop from the train, full menu, and a fridge-ready growler plan midweek.
