Rites Brewing is a family run brewery tucked into a small industrial complex on North Clinton Avenue in Bay Shore. Head brewer Chris Dougherty and his uncle Tim Irwin brew classic European styles that are getting harder to find, using a rare Peter Austin open fermentation system they trucked in from Arkansas. Expect an unfiltered Franconian style kellerbier, a peppery rye saison, a Berliner weisse made with New York grain and a nitro dark mild, plus single hop hazy IPAs and cocktails made with spirits from their friends at Better Man in Patchogue. Food trucks and live music round out a relaxed neighborhood taproom. Details at Rites Brewing.
